How many years does it usually take to get to point work?

I am just starting ballet and have been signed up for two really good dance schools. The classes have not started yet, but I was wondering how many years it would take to get to point work? (With three classes a week) I only went to one class and the teacher said I had good feet and turn out (not completley sure what turnout is yet but I think it's how your feet rotate) How many years does it usualy take to get to point? (At my age) I know its different for a lot of people but whats standard?
