What might cause wealthier individuals to exhibit greater turnout in voting than the poor?

Some wealthest do trunout to vote, but why do the poorest of us always want to vote Democrat? Why do the Democrats want to always raise taxes on the so called wealthy, when it is the working stiff that gets the most taxes?
